Be Bold, Be Bald!
Small Army for a Cause presents Be Bold, Be Bald! — a unique fundraiser to honor cancer patients and raise money to fight the disease itself. Participants are sponsored to wear a bald cap for the entire day on October 22.

Tips for Signing Up

For all sign up options, you will first need to visit the main sign up page.

To Sign Up as an Individual

  1. Select the radio button to the left of "Join as an Individual". You will be taken to a new screen.
  2. The next screen collects your personal information. Make sure to indicate if you want the funds you raise to specifically benefit one of Be Bold, Be Bald!'s beneficiary organizations.
  3. Make sure to complete the field for your 'Personalized Web Page Link'. This will allow you to easily send potential donors directly to your personal page. So, if you enter 'alvinroberts' into that form field, your personal web address will be http://beboldbebald.kintera.org/alvinroberts
  4. There is a small sign up fee this year, which will cover fundraising materials and the shipping costs of the bald caps. Make sure to select your T-shirt size, as the T-shirt is also included in the cost of the sign up fee.
  5. You can start off your fundraising effort yourself by entering an initial donation on this page.
  6. After clicking 'Continue', you will be brought to another page where you must enter your credit card information. You may alternately pay the sign up fee using Paypal, if that is more convenient for you.
  7. The final screen allows you to enter a 'dedication' for your fundraising effort, such as 'In Memory of My Mother'. The dedication will be displayed on your personal fundraising page. Fill out these final fields and click 'Continue'.
  8. The final sign up screen confirms all of the information you have entered. Make sure to click 'Continue' one more time to finish signing up.
  9. After signing up, you will be taken to your personal fundraising page.

To Start a Fundraising Team

  1. Important Note: If you are planning to start a team and want to also personally sign up the other members of that team as you do so, you should actually use option to "Sign Up Multiple People".
  2. Select the radio button to the left of "Start a Team". You will be taken to a new screen.
  3. On the next screen, you must name your team. You also have the option to set goals for the amount of money raised and the number of team members to recruit. Click 'Continue'.
  4. The next screen collects your personal information. Make sure to indicate if you want the funds you raise to specifically benefit one of Be Bold, Be Bald!'s beneficiary organizations.
  5. Make sure to complete the fields for both your 'Personalized Page Link' and your 'Team Page Link'. This will allow you to easily send potential donors directly to either your personal page or the main team page. So, if you enter 'zebras' into the form field for the 'Team Page Link', your team web address will be http://beboldbebald.kintera.org/zebras
  6. There is a small sign up fee this year, which will cover fundraising materials and the shipping costs of the bald caps. Make sure to select your T-shirt size, as the T-shirt is also included in the cost of the sign up fee. Each member of your team will be responsible for their own personal registration fee. If you are a student group or large organization, please call us at 617.450.0000 about potential group discounts.

To Join a Fundraising Team

  2. Here, you must select the team you want to join from the available dropdown menu. If you don't know the name of the team you want to join, you should contact your team leader.

Sign Up Multiple People

  1. Select the radio button to the left of "Register Multiple People". You will be taken to a new screen.
  2. On the next screen, you are asked whether you want to start a team and add people to it, join an existing team and add people to it, or just sign up new people independent of each other. The basic process once you pick one of these options will be identical for each option. The 'start team' option just first asks you to pick a team name, while the 'join team' option asks you to pick an existing team to join. After you have completed these screens, you are asked to enter the personal information for the first user.
  3. Make sure to indicate if the funds raised by each user should specifically benefit one of Be Bold, Be Bald!'s beneficiary organizations.
  4. Make sure to complete the field for'Personalized Web Page Link'. This will allow the user to easily send potential donors directly to their personal page. So, if you enter 'alvinroberts' into that form field, their personal web address will be http://beboldbebald.kintera.org/alvinroberts

  7. After you have finished signing up users, you will be brought to another page where you must enter your credit card information to pay the registration fees. You may alternately pay the sign up fees using Paypal, if that is more convenient for you.
  8. After signing up, you will be taken to the login page.

Special Note for Participants from Last Year's Event

If you remember your username/password from last year, you will be able to shorten the sign up process. When on the screen where you need to enter your personal information, click the link shown in the screenshot below, enter your username/password, and the majority of the form will be prefilled.
