Krystle’s Story

Krystle Gervais, 23 year old, Texan, cancer hater. My sister and I got started with Be Bold, Be Bald! last year when I received an e-mail from the Lance Armstrong Foundation about the new campaign. It sounded like a great way to help, so we jumped on board!

I enjoy Be Bold, Be Bald! because it isn't about just one type of cancer or one organization. (Cancer is not just about breasts!) This event is about all cancers, and it is about one of the toughest parts, hair loss.

Last year, I fought for a very close family friend who battled stage 3 colon cancer and survived-as well as all those I knew who had survived and passed. But this year, I’m fighting for my grandmother. She is currently losing hair after a failed round of chemo.

My goal this year is not just to wear the bald cap, though. My goal is to raise $2,000 and ten team members. If I reach my goal, I will SHAVE my head!
