BOSTON, MA, July 22, 2010—Small Army For A Cause, a Boston-based fund-raising organization, made a $10,000 grant presentation today to The Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These funds were raised from the inaugural 2009 Be Bold, Be Bald initiative, which asks participants to wear a bald cap for an entire day to show support for cancer patients.
The Jimmy Fund has been making “bold” strides in the fight against cancer since 1948 and represents exactly the ambitious and aggressive stance Be Bold Be Bald participants and supporters adopt. In 2010, The Jimmy Fund and Small Army For A Cause will work more closely together to create more excitement, awareness and raise important funds.
“Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is an amazing institution that is leading the way in the fight against cancer with research and treatment. They are exactly the kind of entrepreneurs we believe can make the biggest impact with our funding, and for that reason we are so proud to partner with them,” said Small Army For A Cause Founder Jeff Freedman.
The 2010 Be Bold, Be Bald! initiative has launched its participant recruitment and the event takes place across the country on October 22, 2010. For more information or to register, visit www.beboldbebald.org.
