Fundraising made easy

To help you out with your fundraising efforts, we've put together a few quick tips to help you out. Just click on any of the tips to the right to begin improving your fundraising efforts.

Leverage your personal online headquarters

Your personal online headquarters has a variety of tools to help you with your fundraising needs - from email tools and FaceBook updates to reporting tools and print-able donation forms. You can also customize your personal donation page here. To get to your headquarters just follow these easy steps:

  1. Click "member login" at the top left of this page
  2. Enter your username and password and click "enter"
  3. Click on the tabs and follow the instructions throughout the site.

Reach out via your social networks

Post messages to your social network accounts such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Write your own, or use some of the samples below by cutting and pasting them into your Facebook status or Twitter account:

Please sponsor me as I go bald for cancer on 9/17. Just visit http://beboldbebald.org.

Distribute donation forms at work or school

While online donations make things easy, sometimes the old-fashion way works too. A printable donation form is available on your donation page and in the "tools" section of your personal headquarters. Just print out a bunch of copies and hand them out at school or work. It has all the information people need to sponsor you (and you will get credit for the donations when they send their checks in with the form.)

Send "ask" emails to your family, friends and colleagues

There are plenty of ways to send emails to your family, friends and colleagues to tell them what you are doing on 9/17 and ask them to sponsor you. Send emails to everyone in your address book - you can also export your LinkedIn address book to send emails to them too. Here are some of the easiest ways to reach out via email:

  1. Use pre-drafted emails from your personal headquarters
Just click the "email" tab from your personal headquarters, and fill in the form. You can use one of the pre-written templates, or write your own email. The emails automatically include a link to your personal donation form, and you can send up to 30 at a time.
  2. Send emails right from your email application
You can draft your own email, or use the sample text below, and send it off to everyone you know. You can point them directly to your personal donation page, or just send them to http://beboldbebald.org and tell them to click "sponsor someone" and type in your name. It's that easy.

Dear friend,

On Sept. 17, I will be wearing a bald cap for the entire day as a tribute to the bravery of cancer patients everywhere. In doing so, I also hope to raise lots of money to fight the disease - I've set a personal fundraising goal for myself of [$X,000].

So today, I'm writing to ask that you sponsor me in Be Bold, Be Bald! As they say, every little bit counts, so whether it's ten dollars or a hundred dollars, please give what you can. To sponsor me, simply go to beboldbebald.org and click "Sponsor someone." Just type in my name, and you'll be presented with a link to my online donation page where you can then sponsor me with a check or credit card.

Thank you in advance for helping me raise money for the fight against cancer!

SUBJECT: Why I’m wearing a bald cap

Hi friends,

This Thursday, September 17, I’ll be wearing a bald cap for the day to raise money for cancer charities and to honor those people who bravely fight the disease every day themselves.

This video, http://beboldbebald.org/video/ , tells the story behind Be Bold, Be Bald! I ask that you please watch it and then consider sponsoring with me with whatever amount you can. As the cancer survivor in the video says, no one has a choice in whether or not they get cancer, but everyone has a choice in how they fight it.

To sponsor me, simply go to beboldbebald.org and click "Sponsor someone." Just type in my name, and you’ll be presented with a link to my online donation page where you can then sponsor me with a check or credit card.

Thank you in advance for helping me raise money for the fight against cancer!
