Why should I support this particular event?

There is still no cure for cancer. Whether you have friends and family members who have battled cancer or you would like to support cancer research, education, or treatment, making a donation to such an important cause has never been easier.

How can I help?

By registering for Be Bold, Be Bald! you commit to wearing a bald cap all day, and you get sponsored by your friends, family and colleagues for doing it. You can also help by sponsoring a participant or donating to one of our beneficiary organizations.

Who does cancer affect?

Cancer can affect anyone and one in two men and women will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Five percent of cancer is strongly hereditary; however, cancer can be caused by both internal factors (e.g. genetic mutations, hormones) and external factors (e.g. tobacco, chemicals, radiation).

How many people does cancer affect?

Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. About 1,529,560 new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed this year alone. The World Health Organization predicts that deaths from cancer worldwide will increase to 12 million people in 2030.

Beyond the enormous amount of lives lost, how much does the fight against cancer cost?

The National Institutes of Health estimates that cancer will cost about $263.8 billion dollars this year.
