To raise money for cancer-related charities, honor loved ones, and gain a little more understanding about one of the challenges many people with cancer face. Read more about "Our Story" and why we started this event.
When you sign up, we’ll send you your own fundraiser package with bald cap. You will also get all the tools you need to help friends, colleagues and family sponsor you as you boldly wear a bald cap on September 17, 2009. We will also create your very own personal fundraising page to make it super easy for your sponsors to donate funds on your behalf.
All net proceeds from Be Bold, Be Bald! will be awarded as directed grants to cancer-related 501(c)(3) charities. The recipients of the proceeds will be selected based on the following:
- When signing up, each participant will indicate the type of cancer they are most interested in, along with their preferred cancer-related charity. Allocation of proceeds will be based, in part, on this information.
- Participants may also provide recommendations for specific cancer charities for review by the Board of Directors. If you would like your cancer charity to be considered for a grant, please complete our online contact form.
- Contributions will only be made to cancer-related charities that will accept directed grants, whereby at least 90% of the amount donated will be applied to a specific initiative.
- The Board of Directors will review all grant applications for viability and potential impact, and make all final determinations regarding cancer charitable contributions, based on the above.
